 ServeLoop, LLC BBB Business Review
The world is changing at an exorbitantly high pace. In an attempt to catch up with the fast-changing world, man tries to bring changes in his surroundings to live just the kind of life that he dreams. The changes are not just limited to his personal, professional and social conduct, but also to the place where he dwells and works. Renovations, refurbishments, refurnishing, and extensions are some changes that people plan, in order to improve the standards of their lives.

If you are also thinking about making any major or minor alterations to the land and property that you own, there are a few important points that you need to consider before executing your plans. There is a lot of background work which needs to be done before any of these ideas can be materialized (every inch of land these days is generally documented and allocated and there are many regulations and laws which surround our topography). This is where the role of ‘Land Surveyors’ comes into play!

Land surveyors are the people who plot, measure and record the details of the land, using previous maps as well as creating their own, to advise planning and construction. They also help to uncover any queries into measurements and details of the land, as well as disputes over allocations.

Hire a land surveyor when:

· A land survey is required. This survey can range from an intensely detailed map of an area, to simply a brief plan highlighting the key features.

· When you want to buy an area of land: Only a licensed and qualified land surveyor can precisely tell you what the area that you are going to purchase includes or entails.

· When alterations are planned to be made on a certain area;

· Boundary disputes need resolution.

· Banks also sometimes request for a land survey before authorizing somebody with a mortgage.

Hiring a Land Surveyor

If you do not know any qualified licensed land surveyor from the list of your prior recommendations, then you can consult your local Yellow Pages under the heading Land Surveyors. Local directories generally, have the details of local land surveyors but the only thing that you must make sure is to check that they have the necessary and correct certifications. Since you will obtain no information about the abilities of the surveyor via this method, the best way to get the top surveyor in your area is by asking people for prior recommendations. Use your contacts!

Communicating with the land surveyor:

· Make your needs known to the Surveyor as clearly and early as possible.

· Be sure the Surveyor knows why you want the survey made, and exactly which services you require.

· Feel free to ask the Surveyor for suggestions as to how best to proceed with your project.

· Never hesitate when it comes to asking the surveyor questions about the project or clearing any doubts of yours.

· It is always best to supply copies of any survey maps, deeds, records of title, or any other important information about your property or area of land, to the surveyor in your first meeting with him/her.

Land surveyor quotes

The cost of a survey depends largely on the size of the search i.e. how much you require from it and the size of the area/property. The location of the property will also bring changes in settling the final cost largely. The charges also differ from terrain to terrain, as some areas relatively require more research and testing than others do. The surrounding terrain of the property as well as its shape will also influence how easy it is to conduct the field research, and obviously if it process happens to be more complex and longer, the more costly will the survey be. What you require from the survey will also help determine its cost. For example, if you want to convert a store room into a washroom, then the surveyor will have to do a lot of research and mathematics to find out if correct drainage system is possible or not. Further, the documentation and descriptions required from the survey will also alter the cost e.g. if simply a skeletal plan is required and not an exhaustive map, then surely, it would cost less.

The best way to settle the cost that suits your pockets is to convey the land surveyor exactly what you want. One of the ways to ensure this is to supply the surveyor with as much prior information you have about the area/property as possible. The good thing is that the surveyors are willing to discuss their fees and offer an estimate to you before you approve a survey.
